By taking lessons with SurePass Driving Academy, you automatically agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Prior to your first lesson, we require you to share your licence details with us so we can check your eligibility to drive. Please visit the following link to share your licence with your instructor: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
You must inform your instructor if there is any reason why you cannot drive safely or legally. This includes the loss of your valid driving licence, and also includes but is not limited to, being under the influence of drink, drugs, or prescribed medication that may affect your ability to drive. It is your legal responsibility to ensure you are fit and licensed to drive. If you are unsure that your ability to drive might be affected by any medical condition you have, speak with your doctor and/or the DVLA to report any notifiable medical condition.
You are liable for any and all consequences if you commit driving offences or break the law while behind the wheel. Your instructor will do their utmost to protect you and ensure your driving is safe and legal, but you must be aware that any points, fines or penalties accrued while you are driving are your responsibility. It is a legal requirement for us to name the driver at the time of any driving offence committed. All drivers have a duty to be responsible and to keep the public and other road users safe.
Payment is due within 24 hours of booking with your instructor. Later payment may be made only with your instructor’s discretion. If payment has not been received within 24 hours, your booking may be allocated to other students. SurePass Driving Academy reserves the right to adjust pricing as necessary. We will provide all customers with 4 (four) weeks’ notice for any pricing changes.
You must provide 48 hours' notice to cancel a lesson. If you cancel within 48 hours of your lesson time, you may be charged the full fee of your lesson, down to your instructor’s discretion.
Please be punctual – upon arrival, your instructor will send you a text message or otherwise contact you as agreed. If you do not make contact, the instructor will wait for 15 minutes. After this point, the instructor will mark the lesson as a no-show and will leave. Future bookings may be suspended until you make contact. Repeated short-notice cancellations may mean that your instructor cannot continue to teach you.
If you arrive late to your lesson, you will receive your lesson up to the agreed finish time. If your instructor is running late due to traffic or other reasons beyond their control, they will notify you by text or call, and you will receive your full lesson time.
If we have to cancel your lesson due to traffic, mechanical breakdown of the tuition vehicle, illness, bad weather affecting your ability to learn safely, previous lesson or test has unavoidably overrun, or any other reason beyond our control (and your instructor would not be able to arrive at your lesson in good time), the lesson will be rearranged at no cost to the next available, mutually convenient date and time.
You must act appropriately at all times during lessons. If at any point, your instructor feels your behaviour is threatening, dangerous or compromises safety to themselves or others, the lesson will be terminated immediately, alongside termination of any future lessons.
Please be mindful of your presentation when attending lessons; excess mud, animal hairs, odours etc are not permissible. The tuition vehicle is your instructor’s office and workspace and should be treated with respect for the instructor and for following students.
During the learning process, your instructor will discuss with you about booking your practical driving test. They will recommend an estimate of when you will be ready for test. You should keep in mind that this is an estimate based on your current learning progression, presumed regular lesson attendance and mock test passes. In the event that your instructor feels you are not ready for your test, they will discuss this with you a few weeks prior in order to inform you of your options. You may need to book in more lessons if your instructor feels you will be able to progress enough, or rearrange your test under your instructor’s guidance. If your instructor decides you are not test-ready, it is their right to refuse to take you to your test. Instructors are assessed by the DVSA based on the quality of candidates they present for test; SurePass instructors will not compromise our reputation and the safety of their tuition vehicle if they feel you are not ready. If you go to test against your instructor’s recommendation, they may be unable to continue to teach you.
